On Thursday, November 14th 2013, one day before Brazil celebrates the Republic Proclamation, Amilcar Christófaro (drums), Castor (bass) and André Evaristo (guitar and vocals) will be getting ready to make the first gig of the album Esquadrão de Tortura’s tour, in Ponta Grossa, Paraná.

“We simply can’t wait to play these songs live. I wanna see everybody headbanging to the point their heads fall on the ground! The songs are heavy and aggressive and we’ll do everything to transmit this to the audience live!” Comments the drummer Amilcar Christófaro.

Esquadrão de Tortura is the first album of the band recorded as a trio and also the first one to be lyrically conceptual, talking about, in chronological order, the period during which Brazil was ruled by military regime (from 1964 to 1985). The album is also the first one to be entitled in Portuguese.

The new record will be officially released in Brazil by Substancial Music, in Mexico and Central America by Ozz Productions, in the United States by End of Light, in Europe by Quality Steel and digitally via Wikimetal.

The official release date is in November 15th, day of the Republic Proclamation in Brazil.

Esquadrão de Tortura

Revealed the cover art and track list of Esquadrao de Tortura, the new album from the Brazillian metallers of Torture Squad. The seventh album of their career is the first conceptual lyrical, talking about the time Brazil was governed by the military regime (1964/1985).

The art is signed by Joao Duarte, artist and web designer, which has been working with the band for some time. Here, he is explain a little bit about this work with the band.

“It was great. From the beginning, when the band introduced me the concept of the album, I thought we could develop a strong and impactful art, which agrees completely with the sound of them. Theme of dictatorship in Brazil is a very sensitive subject for many reasons and there were several different ideas, to summarize everything in symbols that are present on the cover and the booklet. I Hope you all enjoy!”

The album is predicted to be released in Brazil on November 15, Proclamation of the Republic’s Day , by Substantial Music and Europe for a label not defined yet.
